Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS)

Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) are a temporary (usually 8-12 months) intensive wraparound support and treatment program for youth with high-level service needs. Most of the time, the behaviors our kids exhibit are normal responses to the trauma that they have experienced, and unfortunately, the number of moves they have had to endure. Behavioral Rehabilitation Services have higher reimbursement rates than other programs because we ask more of the foster parents, such as additional training requirements. Therapeutic foster care is more of a commitment than traditional foster care, but there are also more services and support available to you!

BRS services are intended to:

  • Safely keep youth in homes with wraparound supports to the foster family
  • Safely reunify or achieve alternative permanency more quickly
  • Safely meet the needs of youth in care to prevent the need for placement into a more restrictive setting
  • Safely reduce length of service by transitioning youth to a permanent home or less intensive service

BRS can improve the lives of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues by providing behavioral intervention, counseling, and stabilization services. The great thing about becoming a foster parent with Chance 4 Children is that we have all of these services available in one location! Children have access to therapy, medication management, and case management services - we even have a pharmacy on site to make it easier for you!
