Foster Care Programs

Children served in our programs range in age from 6-21 years old. Some need a home for a day, others one week, and some may need care for up to a year. No matter how long or short they are in your home, they will surely stay in your heart forever! We are always recruiting for adults (21+ years old) who are willing to open up their hearts and homes to provide temporary care for children who have been abused or neglected. For therapeutic foster parents, there is a higher expectation of more in-depth annual training. We believe foster parents engaged in the day to day life of a child is FAR more beneficial to children than any paid staff, so we will always work hard to support your success! Chance 4 Children has various program options to suit your needs.

behavioral rehabilitation services (BRS)

Children in BRS foster care have often experienced tremendous trauma that manifests in undesireable behaviors, which usually results in multiple placements. BRS provides therapeutic services that aim to provide support and education in areas that are preventing the kids from having successful placements.

receiving care

Receiving care is out-of-home care provided in licensed foster homes which are designated to provide emergent or short-term care. This type of program is used when need for placement is immediate, and time does not allow for planning to place directly into regular foster care or other alternate care.

respite care

Respite care provides scheduled and periodic weekend or short-term care to foster youth. Respite is a much-needed service to foster families. It allows foster parents to take a break, which helps prevent burn out. Respite offers birth children of the foster home quality time with their parents. It also gives the foster children a break.
